The
first time I went to an auto auction and saw someone using an
Elcometer 311 paint
meter I was skeptical. After all, I could spot paint work easy
enough. Just look for overspray or feel for rough edges.
But,
when someone showed me exactly how a paint thickness gauge worked, I
was impressed.
The
Elcometer 311 reads the thickness of paint. All you have to do is
look for discrepancies in the readings. If your gauge suddenly goes
from 4 to 9 the car has been repainted in that area.
I tried
a paint meter out on a couple of cars I had just bought, and quickly found
paintwork on one I had overlooked.
Now, I
can inspect paint for repairs in seconds and instantly make a
decision whether to bid.
I buy
$30,000 cars without ever opening the door.
I
recommend the Elcometer 311 for discovering paint repairs. |
